Itinerary 2014

DAY 1:

Frankfurt - Rothenburg  (B)

Depart from Frankfurt for a picturesque drive through the Spessart mountains to Würzburg, situated on the banks of the river Main. Continue on the Romantic Road to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany’s well-preserved "Jewel of the Middle Ages" with its ramparts, city gates, town hall and Jakobskirche (church) with an altar by the famous wood-carver Tilmann Riemenschneider. Upon arrival in Rothenburg, a taxi will take you to your hotel.  In the evening (or tomorrow early afternoon) you are invited to join the city walk with the historic Night Watchman in Rothenburg (or a local guide). 

Overnight at Hotel Spitzweg / Goldene Rose or similar

DAY 2:

Rothenburg - Munich (B)

After breakfast, a taxi will meet you at your hotel and take you to the bus stop. Your coach drives along the Romantic Road passing such picturesque towns as Dinkelsbühl and Nördlingen, with high-gabled houses and cobbled-stone streets. Via Augsburg, a metropolis during the Roman times and famous for old trade dynasties during the Middle Ages, you reach Munich, where your tour ends in the late afternoon!

Reverse itinerary:

Tour ends in Frankfurt at approximately 8:00 p.m.
